Dr. med, PhD, MBA HSG Guido Schüpfer

Dr Schüpfer has been Co-Head of the Wolhusen site of the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital since November 2023. Previously, he was Co-Head of the Clinic for Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, Rescue and Pain Medicine and Head of the Medical Staff at the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital for many years.

Until November 2023, he was Chief Medical Officer of LUKS AG, responsible for the organisation of services across all locations and for quality and risk management. His scientific specialities are health care management and clinical research.

As a lecturer, he teaches at the Universities of Lucerne and Kiel and was awarded the Ernst von der Orten Medal in 2023 for his teaching of management. Schüpfer received his PhD in Bern in 1986, an MBA in St. Gallen in 1993 and a doctorate in Ghent in 2005. He has worked as a management expert and on boards of directors and foundations for more than 20 years.
