pharmaSuisse
pharmaSuisse has been the umbrella organisation for Swiss pharmacists since 1843 and has around 7500 members and more than 1500 pharmacies. The association lobbies for optimal framework conditions, is politically active and conducts collective bargaining.
Pharmacists play a central role in the provision of primary health care: Pharmacies are an easily accessible point of contact and contribute to the quality and cost-effectiveness of drug therapies. From 2019, pharmacists will be allowed to dispense prescription medicines without a doctor's prescription, subject to clear rules.
